Antaeus, the son of Water and Earth in Greek mythology, is the symbol of strength derived from the soil. So too this wine, deriving strength from the matching of site and grape on every part of our land. The 2013 Antaeus is composed of 55% Zinfandel, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot. The intensity derived from red clay soils is here in full, while the coolness of our site provides the acid balance so essential to a wine’s grace and longevity.
"Claret-like reserve is an indelible and constant trait of this particular maker, and it is more than evident here. While it is marked by fine concentration of substance throughout, the latest Antaeus is as carefully composed as it is rich, and it conveys an uncommon combination of polish and structured solidity. Its Cabernet component becomes obvious as it tightens and squares up at the finish, but there is so much fruity length that there is no questioning the wine's future beauty." 92 points Connoisseurs' Guide
